I have always been able to use > buttons to change the alarm time easily - did not realize I was such an expert at this. I tend to find that Bose makes products that are adequate but overprices. Note that I don't care if the devices are Bose or not. But I do care a lot about the functionality and ease of use, especially being able to charge and control the iPod, and easily adjust the wake time. This definitely going to be an interesting thread. How does it play into the room cost? and would a new clock affect the price of the room? What research and development went into selecting that specific product? Is Hilton beating the competition in the clock category?Īre there significant complaints to warrant a switch of clocks? ![]() So the question is why did they chose that clock/brand and what can be done to improve the product? I don't use the clock as a clock only to play music. Like everything in the room, we're all going to have varying opinions. Is any one factor enough to switch brands over? Do they, in aggregate, make up a non-trivial part of the overall stay experience? Ok so thats how you charge. Feather versus foam pillow, separate stall shower versus tub with curtain, water pressure, soap/shampoo amenities, towel/sheet quality, carpet condition, etc. But you can say that about every individual aspect of stay. Controls on the clock radio itself can be used to control the iPod. ![]() By contrast, the Hilton clock radios have small, difficult adjustments that only let you move the time forwards, so if you overshoot you have to go all the way around.Īlso, the Bose devices are true iPod docks, which charge the iPod as well as play it. These dials are simple and intuitive, and let you go backwards as well as forwards. The Bose devices are much easier to use, with large dials on the top to adjust the alarm wake time or tuning. Having been staying at a few non-Hiltons recently, I am really struck by just how backward the Hilton mp3 clock radio devices are.Ī lot of hotels now provide Bose clock radios that are also iPod docks. ![]()
